Wrestlezone posts story after all

June 16th, 2011 § Leave a Comment

So Justin LaBar has come through, and actually posted the Big Show video on Wrestlezone. The odd thing here is that Big Show had the tittle over the weekend, but they mentioned that Wade Barrett was still IC champ this past Monday on Raw. That said, they never showed Barrett with the title…or Big Show for that matter. It will be interesting to see how it all pans out.

On a side note Josh Isenberg made a comment towards Justin regarding how TNA is offered in Canada, and how it would differ from the states. For those of you that don’t know, there are licensing, and distribution rights per country, all around the world. So Justin was right when it came to how TNA is offered in Canada, and that the process for someone to be reimbursed would be different in the Great White North. As a matter of a fact, there are different rights in the US depending upon your city, cable or satellite provider. You can have certain shows syndicated say on WTBS which is a national cable station, but you can have the same shows syndicated locally on an affiliate. Case in point, Seinfeld. The show is available across the US on TBS, but is also available in New York City on their Fox affiliate, channel 5.

I’m not saying I’m the smartest guy around, but Josh more than often tries to play the part, when to quote The Bloodhound Gang, he isn’t even the smartest peanut in the turd!

Wrestlezone, the WWE is misleading? What about you?

June 14th, 2011 § Leave a Comment

Wrestlezone who makes their bread and butter from spreading wrestling rumors, lies if you will, has posted how “an inside source in the tv industry” disproved a statement WWE posted on Raw regarding last week’s viewership. Seriously you’re going to point that out when for I don’t know how long they’ve posted how the brand extension is about to end. They’re going to unify this title in the coming months. Check out this former diva in a hot outfit. What does this former diva look like now? Etc.

Last week they advertised former diva in a see through dress. Right, portions of midriff were see-through, big deal! Wow talk about miss leading! Yesterday we had a post about former diva Tori, and how she has been away for close to ten years, let’s see if she’s still just as hot. So to prep this they have her in lingerie from back in her WWE days, and then a Flashdance like silhouette with a question mark over it. Only to be taken to a picture of her that might as well been Tori inside of a cardboard box with her head sticking out. So they’re talking about the WWE being misleading, but yet they’re being hypocritical. Please the next time you post “hot picture” of so and so, it better be in something skimpy, a bikini or even soft porn! Seriously, who are they marking to 7 year old John Cena fans?

They also have a section where you can send them news. So I sent them news that Big Show appeared this past weekend with the intercontinental title in Spain. I sent the following YouTube video where he is clearly seen with the belt. And as they’ve done in the past, they haven’t had the sack to post it. Show doesn’t appear with the belt until the last minute or so of the video.

For those of you keeping score Martyn Nolan and I have been doing PPV lead in and recap shows. I have sent links to these shows to WZ, but instead of thinking, “hey this could help widen our audience” the stance has been to see these shows as competition. They have done the same with Bobby Bamber and his podcast. Both Bamber and Nolan write for the site. So it’s ok for them to write for WZ but not promote any of their podcasts. I guess that show of theirs, which has been put on hiatus how many times, has really been pulling in listeners. See I could have promoted the return of their shows with what I do, who knows maybe a listener or two would jump over. But hey why would the competition do that, or even mention their show their web site?

Onto Chair Shot Reality a show that is featured on WZ. I am going to admit that I watch every show they’ve released, and although Justin LaBar had some kind words for me in an e-mail, Josh Isenberg has been far from nice. A few months back they had said they were looking for a place to do a radio show online, or terrestrial. So I contacted them, and Mr. Isenberg gave me his personal e-mail to further the discussion. I was honest to them, and told them there was no money in either of the things they wanted to do, but that since I help program a web station (MarkStriglRadio.com), I could talk to the owners and see if they were interested in having a wrestling show on the station. Let me say that in some circles in radio there is money, but in most cases “big name” hosts don’t only do radio, they do voice over work, or do appearances, DJ at bars, etc. I mentioned all of this to them, but heard nothing back from either Justin or Josh. The professional thing to do would have been, “thanks for the info, but we’re not interested in your proposal” or “go f yourself”, respond in some manner, that would have been professional. So a few weeks later there was a technical glitch with Chair Shot Reality, so I wrote the show’s e-mail along with Josh’s, thinking he might be concerned that there was an issue with his show. I instead received an e-mail asking me to no longer e-mail him, and to only e-mail the show e-mail from now on. For a pair that is professing themselves to be the most watched internet wrestling show, they sure as hell don’t care about the production value of the show. Again, the professional thing would have been, thanks for the info, I’ll let our team know. But the audio at times is over powering to the extent to where you can’t hear them speak, which was what I was alerting them to. The colors are almost never balanced, to the extent that Justin looks to have Michael Hogan type baldness, and Josh’s face usually looks tomato red. They also made a claim that they get as many views as Zack Ryder does, guys YouTube has a viewer count, if your preshow get’s as many views as the other two parts of your show, either I’m watching the shows when they first come out, or the numbers aren’t even close.

Most of these wrestling sites are a crap shoot; they have as much insight as the rest of us watching at home. That said, I will still go to Wrestlezone, and recommend others do so as well. I also recommend checking out Chair Shot Reality, because it is still very entertaining. But please before criticizing someone for something, you should really look into what you’re doing first.

Kevin Nash In Boston

January 30th, 2011 § Leave a Comment

There are many reasons why Wrestlezone.com is the only wrestling site that I check on a daily basis. I usually check first thing in the morning to see what has taken place over night. Today was no different, although I was hesitant because I’m not going to be able to watch the Royal Rumble live, I’ll be watching it Monday afternoon (sorry, can’t go on two hours of sleep), and wasn’t sure if I wanted to read any spoilers concerning people that are or are not in Boston.

Till I saw that Justin LaBar from Chair Shot Reality ran into Kevin Nash in Boston!

Wish I could embed the video, but you’ll have to go here to check it out.

Thanks once again for the guys at CSR and WZ for doing such a great job!

To check out more from from any of the people mentioned here you have Justin LaBar on Twitter. Chair Shot Reality on Twitter and Facebook.

If you missed it Martyn Nolan and I did discuss our Royal Rumble predictions earlier this week, you can now find the episode on iTunes (please leave your comments and subscribe), or listen to or download from here:
