Podcast Episode 7 – Countdown To Wrestlemania

April 2, 2011 § Leave a Comment

During this episode Martyn Nolan and I discuss Wrestlemania, which is a little over 24 hours away. We discuss the matches, the programs leading up to the big event, our predictions, and where we see each wrestler going after the pay-per view. We also discuss some of the nonsense going on over at TNA, and discuss how dumb Sting was for not going to WWE.

Interestingly enough I found an article yesterday where Sting mentions he didn’t want Vince McMahon crapping on his career like so many other former WCW stars. Two things to say about that, one, could anyone crap on his career anymore than TNA? Seriously, he’s a joke for thinking that, especially after his latest match with Jeff Hardy. Second, McMahon has done so much to crap on former WCW employees, that’s why Booker T is part of announce team on Smackdown, he’s part of Tough Enough, Steve Austin really had his legacy tarnished when coming over, Eddie Guerrero, HHH, Undertaker, Jericho, Goldberg, Hogan, Hall, Nash, Findley the list goes on and on. Did everyone get their fair shake? Probably not, but how much did WCW do to crap on people as well. Pretty hypocritical on his behalf. I still stand by my statement, and think McMahon should put out a DVD ala The Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior based on Sting. Discussing why he never came in, his reasoning, etc. Either that, or erase every image, or mention of him, which is even more damaging. People in TNA have this twisted notion that fans actually follow them to that joke of a promotion. During the Royal Rumble I remember hearing people say, wow Diesel and Booker T are back, where did they go, or are they coming out of retirement? TNA is a joke, they’ve put themselves in the irrelevant position that they’re in. Instead of trying to compete with the WWE, trying building a brand of your own first. You’ve spent 10 years doing what you do, and getting nowhere. They will continue to do so with the brain trust they currently have in place. Aside from this, they do not have one performer in his or her prime that could lead them to the promise land. I could take almost any midcard wrestler from the WWE, send them to TNA and have them headline every PPV for the next year. That’s how bad they are.

The songs played during this episode are possibly a little heavier than usual, it just fit the mood. You’ll hear the following songs during this episode:

Halford – One Will
Lazarus A.D. – Casting Forward
Fozzy – Happenstance
Social Distortion – Down On The World Again
